FTP Voyager Scheduler Hangs - Service Restart Required

I want to use FTP Voyager to upload data on a regular schedule from remote sites to my FTP server.  The application checks all of the boxes for what I need it to do: Upload all files in a folder, do some XCRC/XMD5/XSHA1, and then delete the local files after successful upload.  My problem is that the scheduled task seems to never complete sometimes and we stop receiving files.

The Internet connections for most of our locations frequently drop.  It seems this might have something to do with the problem.  My oldest installation has been running reliably since July and has a solid connection.  The scheduler hangs most frequently on sites with the worst connectivity issues.

I have implemented a klugey work-around by scheduling a task that restarts the Voyager scheduler service.  This keeps the problem from manifesting and we receive our files.

I set the following scheduler options:

  • connection timeout = 90
  • connection retries = 9
  • connection delay = 3
  • transfer send timeout = 90
  • transfer idle timeout = 5
  • file transfer upload file tries = 10

Scheduled task creation:

  1. I create a scheduled task that runs every 15 minutes.
  2. Add an action to run an external program.  This executes a batch file that moves files into a staging folder for the FTP transfer.
  3. Add a second action to synchronize remote folders.  This moves the files up to our FTP server.
    1. I add an event to this action that runs a batch file after upload.  The batch file is there to delete the uploaded file and is passed, "$LocalPath", as an argument.

This setup works perfectly well in my lab and at the site with the consistent Internet connection.  Other locations have been seen to work for days and even weeks, but eventually the scheduled task hangs until the scheduler service is restarted.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FTP Voyager Error > Cannot copy file: destination /data.csv is a directory.

Hi,

I am trying to upload a file with FTP Voyager Scheduler 16.2.0.328, the schedule task failed with an error "Cannot copy file: destination /data.csv is a directory."

Checking the log, login is getting successful, but sending the file fails.

The person from the ftp server team verified the ftp account is having upload and post permissions.

I could upload the file using another ftp tool also.

Copied the part of log from ftp voyager scheduler below.

[13] Wed 13Mar19 03:12:48 - (Action: "D:\UploadFile\data.csv" to "/") - Uploading from "D:\UploadFile\data.csv" to "/"

[08] Wed 13Mar19 03:12:48 - SSH_FXP_ATTRS: ok

[04] Wed 13Mar19 03:12:48 - Cannot copy file: destination /data.csv is a directory

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

why am i getting this error?
There are a few problem . when i use FTP scheduler ,I selected the icon for “Browser for local path” button and  I selected the “Go” button  and putting the path on the blank. ( the path we use network path. For example \\10.16.27.200\\cnas  )

But there is an error like this “ The specified directory is invalid.

Please check and tell me what am I supposed to do. Thanks.

p.s  this is happen when i use FTP scheduler but  FTP voyager , it works

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection-FTP Voyager Scheduler

I am getting this error only when connecting to a server with a profile under "scheduler site profile" (under tools), when using and identical profile under the regular "site profiles" (under browser) I don't get the error. It's very consistent when I try the scheduler site profile first and many times. Once I try the site in the regular profile and it connects I can then go back to the scheduler profile and it connects just fine. If I stop and start the scheduler service the error returns.

Any ideas? I've made sure both profiles are identical. I've also removed and re-created the scheduler profile. I don't get it. It's like a bug.

I've tried the re-connection and timeout values but they don't seem to help as it actually does connect but then immediately get's disconnected.

FTP Voyager Scheduler hangs

We are having some trouble with FTP Voyager Scheduler.

We are using it to run download and upload tasks, most of them hourly.

The scheduler seems to hang every now and then while running a task. It says "Executing" on the task, but there's nothing happening on the log.

Usually it helps to cancel the hung task, but after this the scheduler seems to want to execute it non-stop until the next scheduled execution.

This problem seems to occur at least daily thus rendering the scheduler useless to us.

Are there any settings that could help us?

We are running FTP Voyager v16.0.2.0 on Windows server 2008 R2 64-bit.

FTP Voyager Scheduler does not save changed settings/schedules

The FTP Voyager service is run as administrator on the server. When logging in to the server as administrator I'm able to eg change schedule settings (Advanced tab) and everything seems to be OK but then the next time I open Scheduler there are old settings?

We have just started a huge EDI project but this makes it really bad......

Many thanks in advance to whomever

FTP Voyager an SFTP (SSH2 / SSH3)

Hi,

I have a question about FTP Voyager and SFTP (SSH).

Why doesn't the FTP client support SFTP via SSH3 and only SSH2?
Product: FTP Voyager (Free Windows Client) Version: 16.2.0.328

Will there be a new version of FTP Voyager?

FTP Voyager Scheduler time out

Hi everyone,

I am new to FTP Voyager, and I am using FTP Scheduler feature to sync the data on remtoe ftps site. It

Client OS: Windows 7 /10 Professional

Server: Windows 2012 R2 with FileZilla Server installed.

Issue details:  I want to sync the data on ftps server to my local network share driver. It happens that when the transfor over the internet, If I set up the ftps in the intranet, there is no problem.

But I am SURE that all the ports that FileZilla using is opened on the firewall. I can use FTP Voyager client to download the files manually

Based on the documentation on the offical website, I disable the UAC and use UNC instead of mapped letter. When I sync the data, a few minutes later, I found the following errors:

TSL 1.1/1.2 compatibility

Is FTP Voyager (v 16.2.0.328) TLS 1.1 and/or 1.2 compatible?

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection

I succesfully logged into a server and saw the content available.

I selected what I wanted to download and chose Download.

Now the log shows

STATUS>    Connecting to "64.27.7.34" on port 21.

STATUS>    Connected to 64.27.7.34:21 from 192.168.1.78:60507.

ERROR>    The server has unexpectedly closed the connection.

and cycles this 8 more times.

I cannot now see the content on the server and if I close FT Voyager and restart it just goes thru'

STATUS>    Connecting to "64.27.7.34" on port 21.

STATUS>    Connected to 64.27.7.34:21 from 192.168.1.78:60507.

ERROR>    The server has unexpectedly closed the connection.

9 times again!

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Site profiles not visible in Scheduler

If I create a new site profile in Voyager I can not see it in Scheduler when I go to set up a new task. How do I get Scheduler to see the profiles created in Voyager? I seem to recall at one time (maybe an earlier version) that there was a way to "send" the profiles to Scheduler....

In scheduler I can see 2 folders - Sites, Personal Sites. But both are empty - even though there are lots of sites defined under these folders in Voyager.

Moreover, when I change site profile details e.g. IP address in Voyager, this is not being picked up by Scheduler which continues to try to connect to the old address.

There seems to be a total breakdown in connection between Voyager and Scheduler.

HELP!

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection

Hi I am not able to connect to SFTP  server from windows 20089 server with proxy server

getting error message The serverhasunexpectedlyclosed the connection

from the same server i am able to connect to SFTP via wiscp

i believe the issue is with encryption because Winscp had Diffi Helman Exchange group that is not available in FTP voyager

Please help

FTP Voyage crashes constantly

Seems I can replicate this behavior every time by simply clicking the title bar while any transfer is in progress. It also happens when trying to view a downloaded file from the local browser. I'm using passive mode. The most common fault is:

Faulting application ftp voyager.exe, version 16.0.2.0, faulting module shlwapi.dll, version 6.0.2900.5912, fault address 0x00008440, but also happens on ntdll.dll, ftpvoyage.exe and "Unknown."

If I don't touch it, it seems to work, but almost any interaction with it after or during transfers crashes it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ron

FTP Voyager - Scheduler problem

We have FTP Voyager 16.1.0.0 installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server. We have two automatic uploads scheduled to occur weekly (FTP Voyager establishes a connection to the destination and then moves and .CSV files from a particular directory to the destination). Once the file has been successfully moved, an email alert is generated and delivered internally.

This configuration has been working fine, until Daylight savings time began on march 9th.

Now, when the scheduled job runs, it executes continuously for an entire hour; because we receive an email alert when it runs, we know it executes about 2,600 times.

e.g. a scheduled task that should execute one time at 0420 on tuesday is now executing once every few seconds for an hour.

There is a line item on the release notes for 16.1.0.0 (The version we have) which states

FTP client release notes for FTP Voyager.

  • Corrected a Scheduler bug where tasks created when daylight savings time is off and scheduled to run daily or at a custom interval would repeatedly run for an hour after their scheduled execution time when daylight savings time resumed.

which is exactly what we're experiencing - is this a known issue / was the bug not actually corrected?

Thanks!

Automatically overwrite a file on upload

I'm trying to do unattended scheduled uploads.  Is there a global setting that tells FTP Voyager to overwrite files when it encounters an older file with the same name?

FTP-Voyager in command line mode.

Hi,

Got FTP-Voyager to work great in command mode using a batch file to initiate file sync to my server from industrial robots to back them up.  Was working great as far as doing the job closing out starting another instance and going to the next robot.

New problem.....

It no longer closes out at the end of the sync.  What option did I change that keeps FTP-Voyager from closing ?  I am using "autoquit=1" in the command line.

Thanks

Stan

Home directory not accessible

Hello,

I'm having trouble with this configuration. . .

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I get this error is in the log:

COMMAND> PASV

227 Entering Passive Mode (70,89,1xx,1xx,7,209)     <== Note, this is the Serv-U IP address.

"ERROR> The home directory specified for this account on the remote server is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator for further assistance."

Things I've tested. . .

This works great (home directory displays, but not for Serv-U):

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + SFTP + PASV + connection to non-Serv-U servers

. . .and this works (home directory displays on Serv-U but using an older version of Voyager + Win7 instead of 2008R2):

Windows7 + Voyager 16.0.1.1 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I'm not using the Scheduler "as service" to do this testing - just the Voyager UI. I'm thinking I should try loading 16.0.1.1 on the 2008R2 server but hesitate because I'm afraid it could screw up the Scheduler that is running other jobs.

Any one have similar experience?

Thanks.

Doug
