ftp Voyager Scheduler 16.1.0.0 is set to run many scheduled uploads, but on many of these uploads it appears to hang after completion, the log records the task as completed with the last lines reading:
Sent xxxxx bytes
Transfer time: 00:00:02.587
QUIT
221
but in the Scheduler task tab the task appears to be still running, this blocks all other tasks from starting and a user must manually abort the running task.
Anyone any ideas what might be happening here?
We are trying to upgrade our FTP Voyager from 11.1 to 16.1. I've been working through all the kinks, but have gotten stuck on running the 16.1 scheduler as a service and being able to access in house network shares (not remote ones). The PC is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I've done everything in KB article #1156 and the recommendations at the bottom in article #1679. They both talk about setting the service to run as a network account that has access to the shared resources. I've tried various domain admin accounts that I know have permissions to the shares and security permissions to the folders, but when I am editing or creating a schedule and try to setup an action, I am only given local drives to pick from when I click the browse button for the "Local File or Folder" field on the Action Properties page. If I don't run the scheduler as a service, clicking the browse button gives me a list of local drives and all my mapped drives. And I tried running the service with the same user id and password that the computer was logged in with when the scheduler was run in stand alone mode and showed me the mapped drives, but it still only showed me local drives when ran as a service. I've tried all this with UAC on and off, with no change. I don't know what to try next. Please help.
Hi everyone,
a long time ago I bought a license for FTP Voyager 15.x and I was very happy to hear that from now on it will be free.
So I went ahead to upgrade to the latest version. Unfortunately it still shows evaluation messages but this is already dealt with in another thread.
The bigger problem is that I can't access my saved server profiles any more. It's only possible to import .csv files and I didn't create these files before upgrading.
I uninstalled and tried to download my paid 15.x version in the client area on ftpvoyager.com where it used to be but now it only redirects to the new version.
This is bad because my server list was really huge and I don't want to enter all server details again.
So is there any way to get a copy of an old setup file?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
FTP Voyager was recently recomended as a replacement of a homegrown application that does the following.
It moves files from a windows to a Linux location. i have set this up in a test schedule and this works fine. Once files are on the linux folder, it has to be moved again to a diffrent folder on the same server.
I have been looking but i can't seem to be able to schedule a move between two folders on anftp. is there such a task?
Kind regards
Andy
How can I get the ftp scheduler to recognize the network drives on my server? It seems that the scheduler only recognizes my hard drives.
Good day
I've set up a Scheduler job to Move Down files from an FTP server to my local disk.
The files download fine but then the remote files are never deleted, I don't even see a failed DELE command in the log.
I've tried the following two remote paths:
Both work for downloads, both don't delete the files.
Log Sample
[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:37 - Receiving: /folder/blah.avi -> C:\Users\Private\Downloads\blah.avi

[04] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - XCRC command failed. The command may not be supported by this server.
[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - XCRC command checking has been disabled for future transfers using this session.

Any help to fix this or workaround would be much appreciated.
Hi,
I installed the FTP Voyager software on a server on a 2nd site. Everything has been configured on site 1 and is working as intended. I configured everything the same way on site 2nd site and the task never ends. I tried a backup and a sync with and without other tasks (emails on success/failure), nothing works. It does the job as insrtucted but the task never ends meaning the next day, the backup will never run.
How can I fix this?
Hi
I've referred to here by FTP Voyager support.
This is my first time I use FTP Voyager for scheduling file transfer, configuring task was very easy, but I still cannot make it work.
In the task action, I created a new action to download a specific folder (and all files and subfolders inside that folder to my local PC
In action information, I put the (Remote File or Folder) as: /FolderName
Nothing downloaded, and error in the log says:
Execution failed (Last Error Message: Unable to perform file action: Could not retrieve additional information about the source path. Does the source path exist?).
I changed it to: FolderName (without slash).
Nothing downloaded, and same error in the log.
I then tried: FolderName/*.*
Log says: Execution successfully completed.
But in the local folder, I found it only downloaded files from main folder (No subfolders or files inside them), and some of them with ZERO size !!!!!
Again, I tried: /FolderName/*.*
Log says: Execution successfully completed.
I found that the ZERO size problem has been solved (files downloaded with correct size) but still cannot get the subfolders !
In the forum, I found a link to the older version (ver. 15.2.0.19)
I downloaded and tried it on another PC, It works like a charm, with no errors !
Can anyone here help me to figure out how to make the scheduler download the whole content of remote folder ??
Hey Guys -
I do a lot of downloading over the internet via FTP - most of which are files 1gb - 8gb. For a couple of years now, I've used SmartFTP due to it's feature of being able to set "Multi-Part Transfers. Using this makes downloading much faster per file! For example, when downloading a large file (1gb+) with default settings, it downloads at ~250kb/s when above is set to 32, I go my max speed of 2.0mb/s. If not familer, here's how the setting works:
- It applies to each download worker
- You may set the file size threshold for it to be used (I set mine to 1mb)
- You configure how many "Parts" (connections) you wish for it to use (between 1 - 32)
- It may be enabled or disabled globally or per favorite
I'm trying to find an alternative FTP client as SmartFTP has had issues recently, but cannot find one which offers this setting. Does FTP Voyager?
I downloaded and installed FTP Voyager and started a download from the same site with default settings and 1 worker. The download speed capped at about 270kb/s.
If you could tell me how to set this if available, I'd appreciate it very much!
Thank You!
I have upgraded to FTP Voyage recently. I noticed tasks scheduled at FTP Voyager Scheduler are running only one at a time and cannot be running at the same time. When one task is running, another is paused saying "Queued for Execution". We had the way to run multiple tasks at the same time at previous version but cannot find the way at new version.
Would you find out the reason how I can run multiple tasks at the same time at FTP Voyager Scheduler?
I posted this several days ago and no help was forthcoming, but my timing may simply have been poor. I also tried tech support at Solar Wind, but I only succeeded in annoying them, as they maintain they're not required to help me in any way. I've been running FTP Voyager 16.1.0.0 on a laptop with Windows 7. The program opens normally and functions correctly for maybe twenty seconds or so. Then, Windows opens an error message stating "FTP Voyager has ceased to function", and the program closes itself. FTP is an integral part of my livelihood as a web designer, so this is naturally frustrating and time-consuming. Does anyone have a clue what's happening, or what I might try to make the program function normally? I probably won't kill myself over this, but it does cross my mind.
Hey all,
One last FTP voyager question. When using dates in filenames, I use the variables %d, %m, and %Y dor day, month, and year respectively. Is there a variable for Yesterday? Or 2 days ago? Or Last Friday, etc? The KB doesn't suggest any, but maybe it exists?
FTP Voyager Scheduler allows local and remote paths (file and folder names) to contain variables that can uniquely identify file or folder paths. These variables may be used anywhere within the remote and/or local file or folder paths. The following are the variables which can be used when executing an action:

somehow i've managed to lose the 'pointer' to my sites profile that shows in ftp voyager, in the scheduler.
when i open voyager i can see all my sites and go to one or more and that works.
if i then open scheduler i can see the scheduled downloads i have set up and the tasks (left pane, right pane).
but when i try to execute one it tells me it cant find it
ERROR:> | Unable to find the profile: "better health new". |
ERROR:> | Please select another profile or recreate this profile using FTP Voyager. |
if i try to edit the schedule and select the stie profile it goes to a folder called FTP SITES but it has nothing in it.
how can i re-associate the original FTP SITES LIST?
thanks.

Another strange issue with FTP Voyager v16. I have a site profile that is using 21, very simple. The credentials land me in my home dirctory. If I try and connect it keeps failing over and over because it is trying a CWD a directory named exactly where I landed, in my home directory. Funny thing is I am using the profile in Schedule and works just fine. I've deleted it and recreated it and the same thing happens. I used another FTP program to connect with exact same credentials and it connects just fine. I'm really regreting upgrading to this version from v13. The application was very buggy and crashed but I was able to get the job done without all the little things that changed. Snippet of the error. It happens over and over and over until I stop it. And of course I removed the actual names.
257 "//serverA/shareB" is current directory.
COMMAND> CWD /severA/shareB
550 /serverA/shareB: No such file or directory.
ERROR> Unable to change to folder "/serverA/shareB".

Hello,
I'm having trouble with this configuration. . .
Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4
I get this error is in the log:
COMMAND> PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (70,89,1xx,1xx,7,209) <== Note, this is the Serv-U IP address.
"ERROR> The home directory specified for this account on the remote server is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator for further assistance."
Things I've tested. . .
This works great (home directory displays, but not for Serv-U):
Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + SFTP + PASV + connection to non-Serv-U servers
. . .and this works (home directory displays on Serv-U but using an older version of Voyager + Win7 instead of 2008R2):
Windows7 + Voyager 16.0.1.1 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4
I'm not using the Scheduler "as service" to do this testing - just the Voyager UI. I'm thinking I should try loading 16.0.1.1 on the 2008R2 server but hesitate because I'm afraid it could screw up the Scheduler that is running other jobs.
Any one have similar experience?
Thanks.
Doug
