FTP Voyager Scheduler Hangs

$

We are using the scheduler to move files to a customer ftp server. The process just moves files, nothing else. Currently the task will run but hang, when we check the customer ftp server we can see files are transferred. But there is always zero length files. I assume these are the placeholder of the file to be transferred. Process will just hang after 5 or 6 files and the files that are transferred are not deleting from home directory. The files are only 2kb each so I can't imagine file size being the problem.

Is there a queue size limit on number of files that can be transferred? We have sometimes up to a thousand files that will need to be moved. Also does the process only delete after it has completed? We have seen it complete once or twice with about 40 files, but that is so random we can't call it an actual successful test.

Thanks

Jim

FTP Voyager expiring

Hello,

My company started using FTP voyager one year ago and received the free registration. Now that the year has passed we began receiving alerts that it is expiring but there is no option to re-register. Has anybody experienced the same? We use this tool with Cattools and since it expired it is transferring the config multiple times a minute even though it is scheduled for once a day. I was originally told to re install FTP voyager, but was wondering if there would be any way we can export the config so this way we're not back at square one every year. I'm not sure why a free program requires registration and expires but anything will help at this point.

Thanks!

I am trying to download files from a third party site that uses SFTP SSH2 port 991

I can connect to the site fine, but when I download a file, All i get is a 0 byte file, and the error msg:

SSH_FXP_STATUS: status: SSH_FX_OP_UNSUPPORTED; description:  The requested file can not be read.  Maximum read size (32K) has been exceeded.

I'm running FTP Voyager 16.1.0.0 on Windows 7 on a Dell laptop.  It opens and functions properly, but after a minute or so, it abruptly closes with a Window error message "FTP Voyager has stopped working". Needless to say, the necessity to keep opening the program because it consistently closes itself is frustrating.  Any thoughts?

FTP Voyager Scheduler Version 15.2.0.1

Hi guys,

I purchased this product 7 years ago and have used many a version of this product. This program has worked flawlessly for quite sometime now until just recently. I added a new SFTP personal site and am able to connect with it no problem. I went into the scheduler and would like to add a new task. There is a requirement to pick one of your sites to associate the task with, but my new personal site doesn't show up. I didn't get any support from case number 616750 as their excuse is that "We cannot support you, since it is now a free product" I bet the guys at Rhinosoft would be quite ashamed at hearing that their paying customers are receiving service like that nowadays. Anyways has anyone encountered this issue with the scheduler?

Thanks in advance for any help.

regex doesn't work?

Preface: I'm running a scheduled backup to synchronize a local folder with a folder on my ftp. Right now, its copying everything. I only want to copy one filetype.

Problem: I can't seem to figure out how the regex engine works.

Situation: I have an archive of many files, and I only want to backup the "raw" data with one file extension (lets call it .abcd). In the scheduler "ignore files and folders" I'm using 'match regular expression' with several variants, none that seem to work. I've tried many things...including:

.*(?!\.abcd).....$

^.*\.(?!abcd$)[^.] $

and nothing seems to be filtered out. I tried going the other way, explicitly denying the filetypes I did't want to upload

. (xyz|qwe|txt|etc)$

with similar results. In fact, the only thing I can get to work is just disallowing a single extension. Not very useful? What's the trick? Is this not really using regex? Am I totally missing something? I am testing my regex in notepad   with the regEx helper plugin, and many different things are working as I would expect there. Please advise!

FTP Voyager Scheduler not working (Ver. 16.0.2.0)

Hi

I've referred to here by FTP Voyager support.

This is my first time I use FTP Voyager for scheduling file transfer, configuring task was very easy, but I still cannot make it work.

In the task action, I created a new action to download a specific folder (and all files and subfolders inside that folder to my local PC

In action information, I put the (Remote File or Folder) as: /FolderName

Nothing downloaded, and error in the log says:

Execution failed (Last Error Message: Unable to perform file action: Could not retrieve additional information about the source path.  Does the source path exist?).

I changed it to: FolderName (without slash).

Nothing downloaded, and same error in the log.

I then tried: FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

But in the local folder, I found it only downloaded files from main folder (No subfolders or files inside them), and some of them with ZERO size !!!!!

Again, I tried: /FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

I found that the ZERO size problem has been solved (files downloaded with correct size) but still cannot get the subfolders !

In the forum, I found a link to the older version (ver. 15.2.0.19)

I downloaded and tried it on another PC, It works like a charm, with no errors !

Can anyone here help me to figure out how to make the scheduler download the whole content of remote folder ??

FTP Scheduler stopped working - could not retrieve additional information about remote path errors

I've had FTP Voyager and FTP Scheduler installed for many years.

On 11/2/2012 the scheduler stopped running nightly backups and now only generates errors when manually executing the jobs.

"Could not retrieve additional information about the local path. Please make sure the path exists and the local user has permissions".

This system has been setup for years and has not changed. The FTP Voyager can manually connect to the profile and I can download files from the server manually without problems.

The only major change to the system were recent FTP software upgrades and patches.

I've double checked the FTP Scheduler Profiles (which never changed passwords in the first place).

I've added a brand new FTP folder with new login password to the server which connects in FTP Voyager, but generates the same errors when manually executing a synch job in FTPV Scheduler.

And I've tried restarting the FTP Voyager Scheduler service and rebooting.

Also nothing has changed on the server and all the files and folders have full read/write access (and can be copied down manually from the FTP Voyager).

Its only when executing the job from within FTP Scheduler that it now fails with these messages and it started around 11/2/12.  But I can't recall on what dates I applied the FTP software patches and upgrades.

Upgrade from FTP Voyager 8 to v.16 lost profiles

Hi, I was referred here from Rhinosoft for support, so I am hopeful this will work.  My Client had been a paying customer of Rhinosoft's, and we recently upgraded from older versions of FTP Voyager to 16.0.2, and everything went fine for those who were upgrading from versions 14.1 and 15.2.  However, it appears that there were about 30 users who had been on version 8, and they lost all of their connection and profile information.  This is a business critical application for them, so it is urgent that we find a way to restore these old profiles if there is any way to do it.  I've been searching for information, but what I'm finding doesn't seem to be working.  Can these old version 8 profiles be retrieved after 16.0.2 has been installed??  Help!!

FTP Voyager V16 - Failing CWD - already in home

Another strange issue with FTP Voyager v16. I have a site profile that is using 21, very simple. The credentials land me in my home dirctory. If I try and connect it keeps failing over and over because it is trying a CWD a directory named exactly where I landed, in my home directory. Funny thing is I am using the profile in Schedule and works just fine. I've deleted it and recreated it and the same thing happens. I used another FTP program to connect with exact same credentials and it connects just fine. I'm really regreting upgrading to this version from v13. The application was very buggy and crashed but I was able to get the job done without all the little things that changed. Snippet of the error. It happens over and over and over until I stop it. And of course I removed the actual names.

                       257 "//serverA/shareB" is current directory.

COMMAND>             CWD /severA/shareB

Home directory not accessible

Hello,

I'm having trouble with this configuration. . .

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I get this error is in the log:

COMMAND> PASV

227 Entering Passive Mode (70,89,1xx,1xx,7,209)     <== Note, this is the Serv-U IP address.

"ERROR> The home directory specified for this account on the remote server is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator for further assistance."

Things I've tested. . .

This works great (home directory displays, but not for Serv-U):

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + SFTP + PASV + connection to non-Serv-U servers

. . .and this works (home directory displays on Serv-U but using an older version of Voyager + Win7 instead of 2008R2):

Windows7 + Voyager 16.0.1.1 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I'm not using the Scheduler "as service" to do this testing - just the Voyager UI. I'm thinking I should try loading 16.0.1.1 on the 2008R2 server but hesitate because I'm afraid it could screw up the Scheduler that is running other jobs.

Any one have similar experience?

Thanks.

Doug

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection-FTP Voyager Scheduler

I am getting this error only when connecting to a server with a profile under "scheduler site profile" (under tools), when using and identical profile under the regular "site profiles" (under browser) I don't get the error. It's very consistent when I try the scheduler site profile first and many times. Once I try the site in the regular profile and it connects I can then go back to the scheduler profile and it connects just fine. If I stop and start the scheduler service the error returns.

Any ideas? I've made sure both profiles are identical. I've also removed and re-created the scheduler profile. I don't get it. It's like a bug.

I've tried the re-connection and timeout values but they don't seem to help as it actually does connect but then immediately get's disconnected.

Scheduler V16 - display format Needs option to change

Hi All,

Recently upgraded from Voyager 14.1.0.4 to 16.0.2.0

Haven't played a lot with FTP Voyager but i am happy with the interface improvements.

Voyager Scheduler is another story however.

Our enviornment runs over 100 tasks daily, and we were really looknig forward to getting onto Win Server 2008 R2, and the latest/greatest version of Voyager.

But the Voyager Scheduler main interface with all the Blocks for each individual tasks is Horrible!!

and who came up with the option of selecting Tasks icons??

We are finding it extremely difficult to work with this scheduler with the number of tasks we have.

PLEASE, PLEASE - put in an option where the client has the opportunity to choose if they want the old style Scheduler Task lay out where it was all listed with sortable columns, or the newer style with the individual blocks.

I really do hope to hear from Solar Winds or RhinoSoft support on this soon....      Thank you.   Bill

Old version of FTP Voyager - where to download?

$

Hi everyone,

a long time ago I bought a license for FTP Voyager 15.x and I was very happy to hear that from now on it will be free.

So I went ahead to upgrade to the latest version. Unfortunately it still shows evaluation messages but this is already dealt with in another thread.

The bigger problem is that I can't access my saved server profiles any more. It's only possible to import .csv files and I didn't create these files before upgrading.

I uninstalled and tried to download my paid 15.x version in the client area on ftpvoyager.com where it used to be but now it only redirects to the new version.

This is bad because my server list was really huge and I don't want to enter all server details again.

So is there any way to get a copy of an old setup file?

Thanks in advance!

Trouble sending large files to a Pure-FTPd Server

$

I have a connection set up to a server, all that is fine...

I can send smaller files just fine...

Larger files? It seems that the Command channel times out...

In the header of the Welcome message is a warning of a timeout at 3 minutes of inactivity...

So I dutifully setup a 150 second Keep Alive...

What I see in the log is...

The file (11GB+) sends fine...(Although there seems to be many reconnections during the transfer)

I will see an OPTS MLST command send

followed by a PWD and then a reconnection attempt...

Finally I will see a "Transfered <many> bytes STATUS message... Followed by an XCRC - which seems to receive no response after maybe 30 seconds...

Then another PWD...

Then an ERROR> Server has unexpectedly closed the connection...

And we start again....

Ideas?

Hi there,

I have been referred here for support.

I have been required to upgrade our FTP Voyager software so that we can support scheduled downloads from a customer who uses public key authentication.  This works perfectly in the FTP Voyager GUI, but whenever the scheduler tries to connect, it fails stating that the password is not valid.

Please advise.
