FTP Voyager 'put' command line switch not working

I'm trying to used the command line interface of FTP Voyager and the 'profile' switch is working to connect me to the correct site, but the 'put' is not.  The site opens and I don't see any attempt to upload the file.

Below is the generated command line:

FTP Voyager Scheduler Hangs

$

We are using the scheduler to move files to a customer ftp server. The process just moves files, nothing else. Currently the task will run but hang, when we check the customer ftp server we can see files are transferred. But there is always zero length files. I assume these are the placeholder of the file to be transferred. Process will just hang after 5 or 6 files and the files that are transferred are not deleting from home directory. The files are only 2kb each so I can't imagine file size being the problem.

Is there a queue size limit on number of files that can be transferred? We have sometimes up to a thousand files that will need to be moved. Also does the process only delete after it has completed? We have seen it complete once or twice with about 40 files, but that is so random we can't call it an actual successful test.

Thanks

FTP Voyager 16.1 Log Settings

Hello all,

Voyager has been chugging along for weeks now, with no issues. All of a sudden, the logging behaviour has changed, and I don't understand why. ALL scheduled jobs have logging set like this:

In the past, I would get 1 log file per day that contained all the logs of all the jobs that ran that day: 2014-07-11.txt, 2014-07-12.txt, and so on.

Then all of a sudden, the file 2014-07-14.txt was the last log file created. All the jobs are still being logged, but into the file of the 14th. Why did Voyager suddenly stop creating new log files? There were no updates to the software, the server, the OS, etc. I tried restarting the service, recreating a job, but no luck. Note: I realize the Automatically rotate Log Files is set to Never, but this has been the case from day 1 when it was working. The fact that my logfile name is a variable should force new files to be created. What am I missing?

Bug in Transfer Queue: MB transferred after pause and resume

$
0
0

Hello -

I'm a new user of FTP Voyager.

I'm uploading a large file, and I've been pausing and resuming the transfer in an effort to troubleshoot some connectivity issues.  I'm uploading to a web server over explicit FTP over SSL.

In doing so, I noticed that the count of "Transferred" data is being counted in correctly.

When I resume a transfer, the amount of data transferred should start from the size of the file currently on the target server.  Instead, it is adding the amount that was previously transferred to the size of the file on the target server.  Each time I pause and resume, the amount transferred jumps even higher.

The file I'm currently experimenting with is 429,386KB

The server currently has 327,839 KB of that file uploaded to it.

After several stops and restarts, the transfer queue says I now have transferred "937 MB of 419 MB" on that 1 file.

Another quick resume and pause, and now it says I have transferred "1,249 MB of 419 MB"

So that should be a pretty simple bug to fix.

----------------------

Separate but related issue:

I will also note that when I have the transfer paused and I refresh the target directory, I see the current file size of the target file -- the amount that has been transferred so far.

I resume the transfer, I see the transfer taking place in the transfer queue.  The file size in the target directory stays the same.  (Not a problem.)

When I pause the transfer, the target directory updates, and suddenly shows the file size as being very small -- I believe it's just the amount that was transferred in the most recent block between "resume" and "pause"

If I right click the target directory and choose "refresh", then the directory updates and once again shows the correct file size for the partially uploaded file.

So those are two bugs that should be investigated.

Thanks

FTP Voyager Scheduler not working (Ver. 16.0.2.0)

Hi

I've referred to here by FTP Voyager support.

This is my first time I use FTP Voyager for scheduling file transfer, configuring task was very easy, but I still cannot make it work.

In the task action, I created a new action to download a specific folder (and all files and subfolders inside that folder to my local PC

In action information, I put the (Remote File or Folder) as: /FolderName

Nothing downloaded, and error in the log says:

Execution failed (Last Error Message: Unable to perform file action: Could not retrieve additional information about the source path.  Does the source path exist?).

I changed it to: FolderName (without slash).

Nothing downloaded, and same error in the log.

I then tried: FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

But in the local folder, I found it only downloaded files from main folder (No subfolders or files inside them), and some of them with ZERO size !!!!!

Again, I tried: /FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

I found that the ZERO size problem has been solved (files downloaded with correct size) but still cannot get the subfolders !

In the forum, I found a link to the older version (ver. 15.2.0.19)

I downloaded and tried it on another PC, It works like a charm, with no errors !

Can anyone here help me to figure out how to make the scheduler download the whole content of remote folder ??

FTP Voyager Scheduler losing filter settings

$

I am using FTP voyager 16.1.0.0 mainly because of the powerful scheduling features (running on windows 2008 r2 standard edition 64 bit).

I have my own internal processes that back up a load of databases and their document folders every evening and creates a set of compressed files with the day of the week in the file name.

I then created 7 scheduled tasks in voyager that each run very early in the morning the day after backups are due to complete as show here...

task_list.jpg

Then in the actions of each of these tasks all i do is add a synchronize action that has an Ignore filter of "Not Matching wildcard" with "*monday*.*" so that only that days files will attempt to sync between the live server and the backup server, like this....

action_properties.jpg

The problem is, that every other day FTP voyager seems to forget the filter and will use the default "starting with" filter rather than the "Not Matching wildcard" and because nothing in my folder starts with that it will sync a massive folder and spend days trying to do.

The loss of the setting seems to be triggered when the action is happening but can't recreate it, all I know is if I go to the server, see the schedulers tray icon flashing then I know when I go in there is will still be trying to sync after 2 days and the setting has reverted again. If I visit the scheduler when it isn't having trouble then all the settings will be fine.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before please, I was really hopeful when I found this system but will have to give up on it soon if I don't find a fix.

folder-sync

Hello, I will try to be brief. When uploading files using Voyager, each file from within the folder being uploaded are shown as folders, instead of files, regardless of the file extension. The files (after being displayed as folders) are also placed outside the original folder during upload. It causes a large scroll in the remote window. Afterwards if I refresh or close the program and return they are in the correct folder. So all folders and files end up correct in the end.

I have reinstalled the program and tried different settings without luck. Maybe synchronization of the computer side folders will help but not sure.

Thanks for any pointers.

In trying to set up synchronization between local and remote folders, I get the following error in the log:

13] Tue 01Jul14 10:53:59 - (Action: Synchronize domain.com to C:\backup) - Action failed (Last Error Message: Unable to synchronize folders: Could not retrieve additional information about the local path. Please make sure the path exists and the local user has permissions within the folder.).

I don't understand why as administrator is granted read/write perms across the board. Please advise, thank you.

I have two jobs setup in the Scheduler (v16) that send email out to a few people when complete.  I get an error the following error:

EVENT ERROR: Unable to send message to email@email.com: Unable to connect

to SMTP server  on port 25.

I am able to send email from the command line on this server so I know email is working.  I've double checked all my settings and still cannot figure this out.

Anybody else see this error?

Thanks.

Trouble sending large files to a Pure-FTPd Server

$

I have a connection set up to a server, all that is fine...

I can send smaller files just fine...

Larger files? It seems that the Command channel times out...

In the header of the Welcome message is a warning of a timeout at 3 minutes of inactivity...

So I dutifully setup a 150 second Keep Alive...

What I see in the log is...

The file (11GB+) sends fine...(Although there seems to be many reconnections during the transfer)

I will see an OPTS MLST command send

followed by a PWD and then a reconnection attempt...

Finally I will see a "Transfered <many> bytes STATUS message... Followed by an XCRC - which seems to receive no response after maybe 30 seconds...

Then another PWD...

Then an ERROR> Server has unexpectedly closed the connection...

And we start again....

Ideas?

FTP Voyager SMTP Problems

Hi

I have set up the SMTP for the scheduler to use the smtp details for Office 365 which uses port 587. When the event attempts to run, I get an error saying

Unable to send message to xxxxxxxxxxx Unable to connect to SMTP server on port 25

1) Why is this failing?

2) Why is it saying it is using port 25 when I have told it to use port 587?

Thanks

FTP Voyager Sheduling a Move not a copy

$

I'm sure many people have the same need.

To copy a file, then based on a successful copy, delete the source file.

BUT if the copy fails, leave the source alone for a retry.

This is usually known as a Move.

This facility exists in FTP Voyager for manual operations, but I can't work it out in the scheduler.

Anybody got an idea?

FTP Voyager - Scheduler Move Down - Not Deleting Files

$

Good day

I've set up a Scheduler job to Move Down files from an FTP server to my local disk.

The files download fine but then the remote files are never deleted, I don't even see a failed DELE command in the log.

I've tried the following two remote paths:

  • /
  • /*

Both work for downloads, both don't delete the files.

Log Sample

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:37 - Receiving: /folder/blah.avi -> C:\Users\Private\Downloads\blah.avi

[05] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:37 - PASV

[06] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:38 - 227 Entering passive mode (95,211,93,130,234,161).

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:38 - Opening passive mode data connection to 95.211.93.130, port 60065.

[05] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:38 - RETR /folder/blah.avi

[06] Sat 12Apr14 17:04:38 - 125 Data connection already open. Transfer starting.

[06] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:55 - 226 Transfer complete.

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - Transferred 358 649 864 bytes. 201,12 KB/sec.

[05] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - XCRC /folder2/blah2.avi"

[06] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - 500 Command "XCRC" not understood.

[04] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - XCRC command failed. The command may not be supported by this server.

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - XCRC command checking has been disabled for future transfers using this session.

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - Received 358 649 864 bytes.

[03] Sat 12Apr14 17:22:56 - Transfer time: 00:29:01.453.

Any help to fix this or workaround would be much appreciated.

FTP Voyager relative dates

Hey all,

One last FTP voyager question. When using dates in filenames, I use the variables %d, %m, and %Y dor day, month, and year respectively. Is there a variable for Yesterday? Or 2 days ago? Or Last Friday, etc? The KB doesn't suggest any, but maybe it exists?

Date/Time Path Name Variables in FTP Voyager Scheduler  -  KB Article #1606

FTP Voyager Scheduler allows local and remote paths (file and folder names) to contain variables that can uniquely identify file or folder paths. These variables may be used anywhere within the remote and/or local file or folder paths. The following are the variables which can be used when executing an action:

  • %a - Abbreviated weekday name
  • %A - Full weekday name
  • %b - Abbreviated month name
  • %B - Full month name
  • %c - Date and time representation appropriate for locale
  • %d - Day of month as decimal number (01 - 31)
  • %H - Hour in 24-hour format (00 - 23)
  • %I - Hour in 12-hour format (01 - 12)
  • %j - Day of year as decimal number (001 - 366)
  • %m - Month as decimal number (01 - 12)
  • %M - Minute as decimal number (00 - 59)

  • %p - Current locale's A.M./P.M. indicator for 12-hour clock
  • %S - Second as decimal number (00 - 59)
  • %U - Week of year as decimal number, with Sunday as first day of week (00 - 53)
  • %w - Weekday as decimal number (0 - 6; Sunday is 0)
  • %W - Week of year as decimal number, with Monday as first day of week (00 - 53)
  • %x - Date representation for current locale
  • %X - Time representation for current locale
  • %y - Year without century, as decimal number (00 - 99)

  • %Y - Year with century, as decimal number
  • %z, %Z - Time-zone name or abbreviation; no characters if time zone is unknown
  • %% - Percent sign

FTP Voyager ver. 15.2.0.17 Unable to modify scheduled jobs

FTP Voyager ver. 15.2.0.17

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 32bit

We had some OS issues and FTP Voyager scheduler stopped working it would crash when trying to start.  I then re-installed FTP Voyager 15.2.0.17 which did not fix the scheduler from crashing.  I then later found out the scheduler.sch file got corrupted. Once we restored the SCHEDULER.SCH file back to the location: C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft.com\FTP Voyagerscheduler.sch  I'm not able to modify any of our existing jobs and the jobs are not running as scheduled for example every 30 minutes etc..

Would anyone know how I can correct this issue.
