The server has unexpectedly closed the connection-FTP Voyager Scheduler

$

I am getting this error only when connecting to a server with a profile under "scheduler site profile" (under tools), when using and identical profile under the regular "site profiles" (under browser) I don't get the error. It's very consistent when I try the scheduler site profile first and many times. Once I try the site in the regular profile and it connects I can then go back to the scheduler profile and it connects just fine. If I stop and start the scheduler service the error returns.

Any ideas? I've made sure both profiles are identical. I've also removed and re-created the scheduler profile. I don't get it. It's like a bug.

I've tried the re-connection and timeout values but they don't seem to help as it actually does connect but then immediately get's disconnected.

FTP Voyager Scheduler not working (Ver. 16.0.2.0)

Hi

I've referred to here by FTP Voyager support.

This is my first time I use FTP Voyager for scheduling file transfer, configuring task was very easy, but I still cannot make it work.

In the task action, I created a new action to download a specific folder (and all files and subfolders inside that folder to my local PC

In action information, I put the (Remote File or Folder) as: /FolderName

Nothing downloaded, and error in the log says:

Execution failed (Last Error Message: Unable to perform file action: Could not retrieve additional information about the source path.  Does the source path exist?).

I changed it to: FolderName (without slash).

Nothing downloaded, and same error in the log.

I then tried: FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

But in the local folder, I found it only downloaded files from main folder (No subfolders or files inside them), and some of them with ZERO size !!!!!

Again, I tried: /FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

I found that the ZERO size problem has been solved (files downloaded with correct size) but still cannot get the subfolders !

In the forum, I found a link to the older version (ver. 15.2.0.19)

I downloaded and tried it on another PC, It works like a charm, with no errors !

Can anyone here help me to figure out how to make the scheduler download the whole content of remote folder ??

Using FTP Voyager to sync with FTP site....HELP!!

I recently downloaded FTP Voyager to help with syncing files and folders on our Egnyte FTP site.  After trying to get AllSync to work with much fail I decided to look else where.  Enters FTP Voyager.  So I have installed and set-up the software.  Connects to Egnyte FTP no problem.  I get all the files and folders mapped from our server to the FTP folder and click sync.  PERFECT.  Voyager takes some time but end result is what has changed and what has been added and or deleted.  When I go to sync up the folders the connection times out.  I get an error in the log which states unable to change folders.  When I try to only sync folders or sometimes multiple files the program hangs.  I know the program is free but it is what I am looking for.  Any help would be great at solving this problem.

Thanks.

I have a scheduled task to download a txt from SFTP site with FTP Voyager.

However, the task met with error message ' The server has unexpectedly closed the connection.' when the download comes to one hour.

Tried the download with other tool like FileZilla. It's all OK.

Our FTP Voyager version is 16.2.0.328.

Does anyone have idea on such case?

Voyager launches without an issue. Once in it, users can connect to different site profiles. As they are browsing folders, the application randomly crashes, usually while waiting for a  folder to load. It happens on multiple folders and does not always crash.

Does anyone have an idea what may be causing it?

FTP Voyager scheduler download problem

Hello,

I hope to get some help with this problem. I try to use FTP Voyager on a Windows server, to automate some crucial tasks.

The schedule is entered, looks fine. It should synchronize a FTP-folder to a local folder, and it downloads all files (.txt files) correctly, except the ones that are really important, the Excel-files. That is, they are downloaded, but remain empty (0 Kb). When I try to do the same thin within FTP Voyager, i.e. Not with the Scheduler, everything runs fine. What could be the problem? It drives me mad.

Thanks in advance!

Problems with FTP voyager connecting to IIS 8.5 FTP server

$

I realize that the company has little incentive to worry about how their free FTP client inter-operates with a rival server product, but I wondered if anyone had any clues about my problems connecting to IIS FTP server.  (Long ago I purchased Serv-U for my now geriatric server, and once owned an actual purchased copy of FTP voyager back when it was a paid product.  But by the time moved to a new server, Serv-U went upscale and is way too expensive for my humble purposes.)

I get two types of error, which might or might not be related:

1) When uploading multiple files at once to the server, the connection always hangs on the second file after successfully uploading one file.  IIS log looks like this:

This is just uploading a bunch of random images to a folder called "transfer".  After the LIST command for the second filename (to see if it's already there), and another PASV command, everything poops out.

2) I get a lot of "SSL Accept Failed on FTP Data Channel" errors.  These pop up any time I try to upload a file when a file of the same name already exists in the destination folder; and also at random other times.  To get anything done, I need to delete or rename any file of the same name from the server first before uploading; and when the "SSL Accept ..." error pops up at other random times, I need to refresh the destination folder and try again, sometimes repeating this cycle several times.  Eventually it always works, but it's a pain.  The IIS log file for an attempt to upload a file which already exists, generating the "SSL Accept ..." error, looks like this:

It's not very informative.  It gets as far as verifying that the alternative filename is available, and then poops out.  IIS FTP server seems to have no more logging detail available.  It's not just a dumb-nuts firewall problem, since I can upload individual files one at a time in passive mode using the tricks mentioned above.

Any insight is appreciated.

Hi,

We have a scheduled task that should upload a file to a remote location via FTP over SSL or TLS. This was working fine with version 15 but not now with version 16. The upload works sometimes but most of the time it doesn't.

We really need this to work or else a downgrade must be done. So any ideas or questions will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Peter Nilsson

FTP-Voyager in command line mode.

Hi,

Got FTP-Voyager to work great in command mode using a batch file to initiate file sync to my server from industrial robots to back them up.  Was working great as far as doing the job closing out starting another instance and going to the next robot.

New problem.....

It no longer closes out at the end of the sync.  What option did I change that keeps FTP-Voyager from closing ?  I am using "autoquit=1" in the command line.

Thanks

FTP Voyager Scheduler Hangs - Service Restart Required

I want to use FTP Voyager to upload data on a regular schedule from remote sites to my FTP server.  The application checks all of the boxes for what I need it to do: Upload all files in a folder, do some XCRC/XMD5/XSHA1, and then delete the local files after successful upload.  My problem is that the scheduled task seems to never complete sometimes and we stop receiving files.

The Internet connections for most of our locations frequently drop.  It seems this might have something to do with the problem.  My oldest installation has been running reliably since July and has a solid connection.  The scheduler hangs most frequently on sites with the worst connectivity issues.

I have implemented a klugey work-around by scheduling a task that restarts the Voyager scheduler service.  This keeps the problem from manifesting and we receive our files.

I set the following scheduler options:

  • connection timeout = 90
  • connection retries = 9
  • connection delay = 3
  • transfer send timeout = 90
  • transfer idle timeout = 5
  • file transfer upload file tries = 10

Scheduled task creation:

  1. I create a scheduled task that runs every 15 minutes.
  2. Add an action to run an external program.  This executes a batch file that moves files into a staging folder for the FTP transfer.
  3. Add a second action to synchronize remote folders.  This moves the files up to our FTP server.
    1. I add an event to this action that runs a batch file after upload.  The batch file is there to delete the uploaded file and is passed, "$LocalPath", as an argument.

This setup works perfectly well in my lab and at the site with the consistent Internet connection.  Other locations have been seen to work for days and even weeks, but eventually the scheduled task hangs until the scheduler service is restarted.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FTP Voyager - Scheduler problem

We have FTP Voyager 16.1.0.0 installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server. We have two automatic uploads scheduled to occur weekly (FTP Voyager establishes a connection to the destination and then moves and .CSV files from a particular directory to the destination). Once the file has been successfully moved, an email alert is generated and delivered internally.

This configuration has been working fine, until Daylight savings time began on march 9th.

Now, when the scheduled job runs, it executes continuously for an entire hour; because we receive an email alert when it runs, we know it executes about 2,600 times.

e.g. a scheduled task that should execute one time at 0420 on tuesday is now executing once every few seconds for an hour.

There is a line item on the release notes for 16.1.0.0 (The version we have) which states

FTP client release notes for FTP Voyager.

  • Corrected a Scheduler bug where tasks created when daylight savings time is off and scheduled to run daily or at a custom interval would repeatedly run for an hour after their scheduled execution time when daylight savings time resumed.

which is exactly what we're experiencing - is this a known issue / was the bug not actually corrected?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm trying to use FTP Voyager Scheduler to upload files on the FTP. But if the connection was disconnected during the files transfer, the scheduler was hang (still showing executing, but from the log, you can see that nothing is running).

Is it possible to solve this problem? Please kindly advice. Thank you.

Issues sending large file / transfer speed

I'm not sure if these issues are related or not. Just upgraded from version 10 to version 16 and am having an issue with one of my sites. Nightly I send a large zip file via FTP voyager scheduler and since upgrading, if the file is over 1Gig, it will timeout around 1Gig and say remote host disconnected. I've been falsely assuming it was on our remote end and discovered this morning that with filezilla it sends the file no issues every time. The second thing I noticed is filezilla uses my full pipe (sending 9MB/s) so the file goes in a couple minutes. With FTP voyager on the same machine at the same time of day I get transfer speeds of around 650Kb/s and after about 20~ minutes it times out.

Any help would be appreciated. I worry if I Can't solve this soon I'll be force to switch all my sites over to filezilla.

FTP Voyager Scheduler: Run External Program doesn't work

I'm trying to run and external program from within an action. The Program to Run: C:\Windows\notepad.exe

From what I see in the Task Log, it appears everything worked.

[13] Mon 09Sep13 12:49:49 - (Action: Open Notepad) - Running external program: C:\Windows\notepad.exe

[13] Mon 09Sep13 12:49:49 - (Action: Open Notepad) - Action successfully completed.

[12] Mon 09Sep13 12:49:49 - (Task: Open Notepad) - Execution successfully completed.

[05] Mon 09Sep13 12:49:53 - QUIT

Except nothing happened.

I am using Windows 7, 64-bit.

BTW, if I put in an invalid path (C:\Windowsx\notepad.exe), the Task Log reports

[12] Mon 09Sep13 13:20:50 - (Task: Open Notepad) - Execution failed (Last Error Message: (0x2) The system cannot find the file specified.).

So it appears finding notepad.exe isn't the issue.

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection-FTP Voyager Scheduler

Hi everyone,

I am new to FTP Voyager, and I am using FTP Scheduler feature to sync the data on remtoe ftps site. It

Client OS: Windows 7 /10 Professional

Server: Windows 2012 R2 with FileZilla Server installed.

Issue details:  I want to sync the data on ftps server to my local network share driver. It happens that when the transfor over the internet, If I set up the ftps in the intranet, there is no problem.

But I am SURE that all the ports that FileZilla using is opened on the firewall. I can use FTP Voyager client to download the files manually

Based on the documentation on the offical website, I disable the UAC and use UNC instead of mapped letter. When I sync the data, a few minutes later, I found the following errors:

Error logs from FTP Client

[03] Mon 04Dec17 13:04:18 - Private IP address returned by the server in response to PASV command.

[03] Mon 04Dec17 13:04:18 - Converting private IP address XXXXXX to public IP address XXXX.

[03] Mon 04Dec17 13:04:18 - Opening passive mode data connection to XXXX, port 51145.

[03] Mon 04Dec17 13:04:19 - Transferred 7,413 bytes. 114.91 KB/sec.

[06] Mon 04Dec17 13:06:19 - 421 Connection timed out.

I also use Wireshark to troubleshot the problem and found that there is no responsing from client after FTP server send the ACK packet:

Any ideas on the issue?
