FTP Scheduler stopped working - could not retrieve additional information about remote path errors

$

I've had FTP Voyager and FTP Scheduler installed for many years.

On 11/2/2012 the scheduler stopped running nightly backups and now only generates errors when manually executing the jobs.

"Could not retrieve additional information about the local path. Please make sure the path exists and the local user has permissions".

This system has been setup for years and has not changed. The FTP Voyager can manually connect to the profile and I can download files from the server manually without problems.

The only major change to the system were recent FTP software upgrades and patches.

I've double checked the FTP Scheduler Profiles (which never changed passwords in the first place).

I've added a brand new FTP folder with new login password to the server which connects in FTP Voyager, but generates the same errors when manually executing a synch job in FTPV Scheduler.

And I've tried restarting the FTP Voyager Scheduler service and rebooting.

Also nothing has changed on the server and all the files and folders have full read/write access (and can be copied down manually from the FTP Voyager).

Its only when executing the job from within FTP Scheduler that it now fails with these messages and it started around 11/2/12.  But I can't recall on what dates I applied the FTP software patches and upgrades.

Trialling the ftp voyager v 16.0.2.0 and unable to create new key pair files

Hi All,

I am trialling FTP voyager v 16.0.2.0 and when I try to create a key pair, I get the following pop-up message:

Capture.PNG

I've tried all three key file formats: SSL, SSH and OpenSSH and I get the same message on all three.

I definately have access to my local C drive.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Export FTP Voyager Job Information to .csv or Excel

Hi all. Is there anyway to export the Scheduler Job Information - job name, site profile used, schedule run time, event info to excel or .csv file just like you can export Site Profile information? We have built up a lot of site profiles and scheduled jobs and need to get that info into a document. I can't find an export nor can I manipulate the .sch file or at least haven't figured it out yet.

Home directory not accessible

Hello,

I'm having trouble with this configuration. . .

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I get this error is in the log:

COMMAND> PASV

227 Entering Passive Mode (70,89,1xx,1xx,7,209)     <== Note, this is the Serv-U IP address.

"ERROR> The home directory specified for this account on the remote server is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator for further assistance."

Things I've tested. . .

This works great (home directory displays, but not for Serv-U):

Windows Server 2008R2 + Voyager 16.0.2.0 + SFTP + PASV + connection to non-Serv-U servers

. . .and this works (home directory displays on Serv-U but using an older version of Voyager + Win7 instead of 2008R2):

Windows7 + Voyager 16.0.1.1 + FTP over TLS (implicit) + PASV + connection to Serv-U v6.4

I'm not using the Scheduler "as service" to do this testing - just the Voyager UI. I'm thinking I should try loading 16.0.1.1 on the 2008R2 server but hesitate because I'm afraid it could screw up the Scheduler that is running other jobs.

Any one have similar experience?

Thanks.

Doug

FTP Voyager Scheduler Task will not stop executing

Hello,

I have setup a FTP Voyager Scheduled Task that will not executing.  The task is setup to reach out to a FTP to move down any available files and also move up any new files that have been created locally.

When the task is scheduled, it will not stop executing and no available files are pulled down from the FTP or moved up to the FTP site.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Scheduler runs task continuously

I have several tasks setup to run at different time intervals on a daily basis.

After the time change for Daylight Savings Time on Sunday morning the tasks run as scheduled and then stop and re-start continuously.

I have tried re-starting the service, updating the task scheduler time and re-booting the server all to no avail.

Has anyone else seen this or does anyone have any ideas on how to correct it.

I am on FTP Voyager version 16.0.2.0.

Never had this issue on any previous versions.

Is there a place to download version 15 again????

Trouble sending large files to a Pure-FTPd Server

I have a connection set up to a server, all that is fine...

I can send smaller files just fine...

Larger files? It seems that the Command channel times out...

In the header of the Welcome message is a warning of a timeout at 3 minutes of inactivity...

So I dutifully setup a 150 second Keep Alive...

What I see in the log is...

The file (11GB+) sends fine...(Although there seems to be many reconnections during the transfer)

I will see an OPTS MLST command send

followed by a PWD and then a reconnection attempt...

Finally I will see a "Transfered <many> bytes STATUS message... Followed by an XCRC - which seems to receive no response after maybe 30 seconds...

Then another PWD...

Then an ERROR> Server has unexpectedly closed the connection...

And we start again....

Ideas?

Questions upgrading FTP Voyager from version 15 to 16

Hi:

I run version 15.2.0.13 under Win XP Pro. It has worked for years.

A year ago, I tried the new version with a new ribbon interface. As I recall, it was called version 16. I found it buggy and hard to use. I reverted to version 15.

Regarding version 16.1.0.0 at www.serv-u.com/ftpvoyager.asp :

1.  Is that the version with a ribbon interface?

2.  Is it stable?

3. Can I install it and run it in parallel with version 15?

4. Will either version run under Windows 7?

5. Anyone know of a place to download 15.2.0.13?

Thanks very much.

Fred

FTP Voyager Migration

How can I easily migrate from version 15.2.0.19 to 16.1.0.0?  I've managed to import my site profiles into ftp voyager, however how do I import my scheduled tasks into scheduler?

How to remove a site from the FTP Voyager site list

How do you remove a site from Schedulers site list?

I learned how to add them from this forum but can't seem to get rid of some old one no longer used or needed.

FTP Voyager Scheduler hangs on jobs

Evidently this is a widespread problem according to the posts and Google searches.

I'm using version 16.1.0.0 and most scheduled 'Move Up' tasks just hang.

The log files show the Quit command multiple times but the process just keeps running, doing nothing except preventing other tasks from running.

The only way to fix it is to cancel the task, then start execution over.

Is there any planned resolution for this?

I've been trying to figure it out for several weeks, trying all sorts of different things, but obviously it's a program bug.

This is taking me several hours a week to log into client computers, clean up the task process and restart.

I'll give it until 9/1/14 then will look for an alternate product that works.

And I'll be sure to post my experience wherever I can so others don't have to deal with the same issue.

Scheduler not uploading files to Remote Server

I downloaded and set up the newest version of scheduler and set up a test FTP site on my Server and Test local folder from which to upload a file to the remote server. When I execute nothing happens except it says "Executing." But there is no file in the Remote folder. Yet the Log says:    Sat 22Nov14 16:50:55 - (Task: test upload) - Execution successfully completed.   I can get onto the remote server through the Voyager FTP utility, so I know that works. What's up?

Hello,

I just update to the new FTP Voyager. I have been using the old version for server years. I just got a new PC with Windows 7 and installed the new FTP Voyager. I copied all my old setting to my new system and when I download a zip file I cannot unzip it. I am connecting to my customer's site using sftp on port 22 and SSH2.

Any help would be great in this Matter.

FTP Voyager 16.1 File Rename

Hi All,

I'm trying to rename a file that has a date in the filename, but the 2 methods I'm trying are both failing.

Using date variables followed by a wildcard                                             Using date variables WITHOUT a wildcard

Since today is September 30 2014, I KNOW %m = 09, %d = 30, and %Y = 2014. Yet, somehow the date variables are not being interpreted. Any idea why not?

I am using FTP Voyager to connect to a remote site via SFTP. When new files are added I have to manually click refresh to see the new files. I am sure this used to automatically refresh? Any ideas?

email settings in Scheduler and Voyager

We recently replaced our server and had to move FTP Voyager. We took a backup copy of the files as outlined in the article http://www.serv-u.com/kb/1189/how-to-back-up-and-restore-ftp-voyager . We did a new install of FTPVoyager v 16.1.0 and reinstalled the backup files onto the new server.

We have now discovered after much head scratching and lost hours, that the email settings relating to SMTP server, and the sending address (From) are not being correctly maintained. We tried to update the SMTP setttings in the GUI (both in Scheduler and in Voyager) but they are not used when Scheduler runs an Event that requires email. Instead, it appears to use the ones in the FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file.

In order to change the SMTP server name and the "From" entry we now have to do this by hacking the FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file rather than via the GUI.

Is this a known bug? Is there anything we can do to get the parameters set in the GUI of Voyager and Scheduler to be retained and used?

Also, whilst asking questions in this area, why are there 2 interfaces for email settings under Tools - one in Options and one in Scheduler options. These seem to be independent as we can put different values in each which are retained between sessions- both of which are ignored(!) in favour of those in FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file.  I have been unable to track down where the GUI values are actually stored.

A right dog's breakfast.

Site profiles not visible in Scheduler

$

If I create a new site profile in Voyager I can not see it in Scheduler when I go to set up a new task. How do I get Scheduler to see the profiles created in Voyager? I seem to recall at one time (maybe an earlier version) that there was a way to "send" the profiles to Scheduler....

In scheduler I can see 2 folders - Sites, Personal Sites. But both are empty - even though there are lots of sites defined under these folders in Voyager.

Moreover, when I change site profile details e.g. IP address in Voyager, this is not being picked up by Scheduler which continues to try to connect to the old address.

There seems to be a total breakdown in connection between Voyager and Scheduler.
