FTP Scheduler 15.2.0.19 used to know if

a file it had downloaded previously was still present in the current download folder and NOT redownload it.  like last week it was doing so.

over the weekend we changed out domain structure, i have no idea why this would make a difference. to get Scheduler up again, it needed a re-install as my username changed.  Now, when i download from a group of websites looking for NEW files, it isnt seeing that some of the files to download are already present.  It is using the synchronise setting instead of 'download'.  Did i uncheck some option?  How to stop this behavior.

Thanks.

Using FTP Voyager to sync with FTP site....HELP!!

I recently downloaded FTP Voyager to help with syncing files and folders on our Egnyte FTP site.  After trying to get AllSync to work with much fail I decided to look else where.  Enters FTP Voyager.  So I have installed and set-up the software.  Connects to Egnyte FTP no problem.  I get all the files and folders mapped from our server to the FTP folder and click sync.  PERFECT.  Voyager takes some time but end result is what has changed and what has been added and or deleted.  When I go to sync up the folders the connection times out.  I get an error in the log which states unable to change folders.  When I try to only sync folders or sometimes multiple files the program hangs.  I know the program is free but it is what I am looking for.  Any help would be great at solving this problem.

Thanks.

Where are FTP Voyager Scheduler actions stored on disk?

When I create an action, where is the configuration file stored on my hard drive? I am interested in programmatically modifying some of the action settings in the FTP Voyager Scheduler. For instance, if I put FTP Voyager on 5 computers and need to make a small modification to their settings, I would prefer not to have to go to all 5 computers to make this change. Instead, I could send an updated configuration file to each computer when I send out updates and the new settings will take affect, after perhaps requiring a reboot of the service.

Is this possible? Are FTP Voyager Scheduler settings or actions written to some .config/xml/.ini or other type of file?

Thanks!

Voyager Profiles not showing in Scheduler

I have created 2 FTP profiles in Voyager but when I open the Scheduler and try to select the profile to work with there are no sites there!?

I have looked over all the settings... It seems pretty simple, I have saved 2 profiles that work fine but not showing in the scheduler app.

Any insight?

Thanks, Andy

FTP Voyager Scheduler not working (Ver. 16.0.2.0)

Hi

I've referred to here by FTP Voyager support.

This is my first time I use FTP Voyager for scheduling file transfer, configuring task was very easy, but I still cannot make it work.

In the task action, I created a new action to download a specific folder (and all files and subfolders inside that folder to my local PC

In action information, I put the (Remote File or Folder) as: /FolderName

Nothing downloaded, and error in the log says:

Execution failed (Last Error Message: Unable to perform file action: Could not retrieve additional information about the source path.  Does the source path exist?).

I changed it to: FolderName (without slash).

Nothing downloaded, and same error in the log.

I then tried: FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

But in the local folder, I found it only downloaded files from main folder (No subfolders or files inside them), and some of them with ZERO size !!!!!

Again, I tried: /FolderName/*.*

Log says: Execution successfully completed.

I found that the ZERO size problem has been solved (files downloaded with correct size) but still cannot get the subfolders !

In the forum, I found a link to the older version (ver. 15.2.0.19)

I downloaded and tried it on another PC, It works like a charm, with no errors !

Can anyone here help me to figure out how to make the scheduler download the whole content of remote folder ??

FTP-Voyager in command line mode.

Hi,

Got FTP-Voyager to work great in command mode using a batch file to initiate file sync to my server from industrial robots to back them up.  Was working great as far as doing the job closing out starting another instance and going to the next robot.

New problem.....

It no longer closes out at the end of the sync.  What option did I change that keeps FTP-Voyager from closing ?  I am using "autoquit=1" in the command line.

Thanks

FTP Voyager Scheduler v16 is terrible. How can I download v15 which I paid for?

Well, I tried.  I really did.  But I'm sick of dealing with this nonsense.  I don't have the time.  I can't wait for a "bug fix" which may never come.

I have tried the last few weeks to use the new version 16 of FTP Voyager and FTP Scheduler in a production situation and it continues to fail.  I had been very happy with our paid-for version 15 and when I had to provision a new server to perform our FTP synchronization tasks, I assumed that getting the newest version would be the smartest thing to do.  Not only that, but the new version was free!

However, the myriad critical logic errors in this new version have broken my business' processes and there appears to be no way to submit trouble tickets for the program nor any real tech support (I don't consider a forum "tech support") now that it is "free".  Specifically, I've tried to get two of my own issues resolved, and have been tracking a third:

  1. "KEEP ALIVE" when attempting to "move down" a folder with no items in it.
    1. FTP Voyager Scheduler Empty Folder "Move Down" Bug & Possible Work-Around
  2. Incorrect "move down" behavior causing data loss.
    1. FTP Voyager Scheduler Move Down File Deletion Behavior
  3. Inability to run simultaneous tasks.
    1. Due to One Schedule task stuck & oall thers are in queue

None of these were issues in version 15.  However it pains me, and seeing no actual resolution on my issues, I have to revert a production server and downgrade FTP Voyager to a version that actually works.

So, with that said, where can I actually download a copy of version 15?  All links available are either dead or point to the v16 download.

FTP Voyager Sheduler default folder gets transferred to remote location.

I want to send a data including files and folders from local folder x:\xyz to remote folder / (Home directory mapped by ftp server). When I start schedule it creates a folder XYZ and the transfers the files and subfolders in xyz. I want to transfer files and folders to the remote location without transferring the local folder (here XYZ). Can anyone help regarding this?

FTP Voyager Scheduler taking a lot of time?

I have my FTP Voyager Scheduler setup to automatically connect to a server and download a backup file (about 17GB).

The process starts at 3:00am and ends at about 7:45am.  However, if I do it manually, it will only take about 45 minutes.  Any ideas on how to speed up the scheduled process or settings I have selected that might slow it down?

I know it's not bandwidth or network congestion because I can do the manual transfer during the day with everybody on the network.  At 3:00am, nobody is on the network.

Thanks!

Email Settings and Scheduler Profiles

$

We are evaluating FTP Voyager for automating file transfers between sites with SSL. There are two worrisome issues:

  1. Email reporting is failing. I am receiving an error in the Scheduler log stating the following:
    1. [04] Wed 31Dec14 13:43:30 - EVENT ERROR: Unable to send message to 'Test_email_Address': Unable to connect to SMTP server  on port 25.
    2. Our SMTP server is functioning with other services from this same server.
    3. I have input the SMTP information into both the FTP Voyager Options and the Scheduler Options.
    4. I have also checked the configuration files called out in another thread here and see our SMTP information correctly.
  2. I cannot create Scheduler Site Profiles directly.
    1. I have to create them in the FTP Voyager Site Profile First and then right click and select 'Copy to Scheduler'
    2. If I create them in the Scheduler Site Profile directly, none of the advanced features apply correctly and the profile will not connect to the SSL site.

I believe the two issues may be related.  Issue number 2 is an annoyance but not a show stopper. Issue number 1 on the other hand is preventing me from completing my proof of concept and integration into monitoring.

The scheduler service is running as a domain user with full rights to the server it's running on.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I can provide log files, screen shots, etc. if required.

Thanks,

-Mike

V16.2.0.328: Daylight saving bug still present, WTF?

$

As a veeery long time licensed FTP Voyager user since 2000 (And I have a V9.0.1.4 version still running on W2K without any troubles for years) my first choice for a new setup on W7 was FTP Voyager again. Of course.

But now I am very disappointed.

Until last friday every scheduled task (Nine tasks every day) everything was allright, but with the last weekend here in Germany the summer time came into game. And guess what, since Monday every task runs again and again for an hour and floods my mail account with failure mails.

I have tasks running once a day generating a single log for every day, before DST such a log had a size of 12kb, since monday they are growing up to 7,5megs and have about 397000 lines. For transferring ONE file!

Ok, it's a SFTP setup with key file authentication and this produces a lot of auth lines, but for sure not that much.

Hey Solar Winds, whats going on with your quality control? What to do now, re-generate every job and do that again every spring?

The server has unexpectedly closed the connection

from the same server i am able to connect to SFTP via wiscp

FTP Voyager - Scheduler problem

$

We have FTP Voyager 16.1.0.0 installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server. We have two automatic uploads scheduled to occur weekly (FTP Voyager establishes a connection to the destination and then moves and .CSV files from a particular directory to the destination). Once the file has been successfully moved, an email alert is generated and delivered internally.

This configuration has been working fine, until Daylight savings time began on march 9th.

Now, when the scheduled job runs, it executes continuously for an entire hour; because we receive an email alert when it runs, we know it executes about 2,600 times.

e.g. a scheduled task that should execute one time at 0420 on tuesday is now executing once every few seconds for an hour.

There is a line item on the release notes for 16.1.0.0 (The version we have) which states

FTP client release notes for FTP Voyager.

  • Corrected a Scheduler bug where tasks created when daylight savings time is off and scheduled to run daily or at a custom interval would repeatedly run for an hour after their scheduled execution time when daylight savings time resumed.

which is exactly what we're experiencing - is this a known issue / was the bug not actually corrected?

Thanks!

Unable to connect

I have successfully used FTP Voyager (and paid for it) for a number of years.  In the last week or so, I have not been able to connect to our FTP site.  I downloaded the new, free version of the software (which I also do not like as much).  All of my connection information migrated to the new version just fine.  But, I still cannot connect, either from my desktop or my laptop, through any of our user profiles.  However, the site is working and one of my collegues (who is in another state) has had no problems at all in connecting.  I am stumped.  Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Thanks for your help.

Changing site profile password breaks scheduled tasks.

$

I recently took over as IT manager for my client, in the notes the previous manager left it mentioned that if the password for one of the FTP site profiles is changed it can cause the scheduler to stop working - but he never said how you fix it. Every 3 months I have to change the password for one of the FTPs and this time around it broke the scheduler as he threatened it could. Between me and colleagues we've reinstalled the software, created new site profiles and new scheduled tasks, but every time the same thing happens. Bizarrely, the site profile connects and works fine, but it is like the scheduler isn't refreshing its details. We've exhausted options in trying to fix this and support appears to be extremely limited - does anyone have any ideas, please?

FTP Voyager and email alerts

$

Hello, I've scoured this site as well as the web looking for an answer to my Voyager email challenges.

I really like the program and in fact it seems to work very well for what I'm doing; however, I cannot make the email alerts function at all.

I have ensured the following:

1) email settings are proper in the Options area

2) email setting match the Option email settings in the "Scheduler Options" area

3) Tried both a gmail account and yahoo.  The gmail refuses to work always timing out regardless.  The yahoo account never errors out but then emails are never received, which is confusing.

4) Tried on two different systems connected to unique networks

Current Scheduler email settings in options:

Server:  smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Port: 465

Use SSL: YES

USE Authentication: YES

Account Name: full email address

Account Password: proper password

Email settings in OPTIONS area are essentially the same.

EVENT setup in the TASK:  Execution START as well as the EVENT SCHEDULE area.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

brian

email settings in Scheduler and Voyager

$

We recently replaced our server and had to move FTP Voyager. We took a backup copy of the files as outlined in the article http://www.serv-u.com/kb/1189/how-to-back-up-and-restore-ftp-voyager . We did a new install of FTPVoyager v 16.1.0 and reinstalled the backup files onto the new server.

We have now discovered after much head scratching and lost hours, that the email settings relating to SMTP server, and the sending address (From) are not being correctly maintained. We tried to update the SMTP setttings in the GUI (both in Scheduler and in Voyager) but they are not used when Scheduler runs an Event that requires email. Instead, it appears to use the ones in the FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file.

In order to change the SMTP server name and the "From" entry we now have to do this by hacking the FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file rather than via the GUI.

Is this a known bug? Is there anything we can do to get the parameters set in the GUI of Voyager and Scheduler to be retained and used?

Also, whilst asking questions in this area, why are there 2 interfaces for email settings under Tools - one in Options and one in Scheduler options. These seem to be independent as we can put different values in each which are retained between sessions- both of which are ignored(!) in favour of those in FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive file.  I have been unable to track down where the GUI values are actually stored.

A right dog's breakfast.

Barry Sutton.
